BHSN, a regionally recognized behavioral health leader since 1874, seeks an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director and lead the growth of Psychiatric Services across Northern New York and the Capital Region. KEY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic oversight of psychiatric clinical services in Morrisonville and Queensbury.
• Drive crisis planning, reduce unnecessary ED utilization, and strengthen community care coordination.
• Lead recruitment, supervision, and development of psychiatric and medical staff.
• Promote high standards of practice, communication, and team‑based care.
CLINICAL ROLE – DIRECT CARE & EXPERTISE
• Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management.
• Develop and oversee individualized, strengths‑based treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with OMH, OASAS, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
• Lead policy development, training, and clinical review, including harm‑reduction and crisis protocols.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Board Certification in Psychiatry.
• Active NYS Medical License and DEA registration.
• Board Certification in Addiction Medicine or equivalent (preferred) and at least one year of experience in substance‑use‑disorder services.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, commitment to equity, trauma‑informed care, and recovery‑oriented systems of care.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical supervision skills.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (preferred).

Salary : $300,000 - $350,000
