Position Summary

The Lead BCBA provides clinical leadership and oversight for behavior analytic services within Community Living. This role ensures behavior support services are evidence-based, consistently implemented, and compliant with BACB standards, state licensure requirements, DMH regulations, and BHA policies.


Maintaining a reduced caseload, the Lead BCBA supervises clinical staff, reviews assessments and behavior support plans, oversees referral and intake decisions, and ensures consistent implementation of behavioral programming across residential settings. This position partners with Operations, Nursing, and leadership to improve clinical outcomes, staff performance, and quality of care.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field 
  • Current BCBA certification and applicable Missouri/Kansas LBA licensure 
  • Completion of BACB-approved supervision training 
  • Minimum four (4) years of ABA experience 
  • Two (2) years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience preferred 
  • Experience in residential or intensive behavioral services preferred

  • Strong leadership, supervision, and coaching skills 
  • Advanced knowledge of ABA principles, FBAs, BSPs, and behavior reduction strategies 
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills 
  • Knowledge of BACB ethics, state regulations, Medicaid, and quality assurance standards 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead effectively during crisis situations 
  • Valid driver's license meeting company requirements 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop BCBAs, RBTs, and other clinical staff. 
  • Conduct supervision meetings, case reviews, and performance coaching. 
  • Monitor clinical productivity, quality, and compliance. 
  • Support BCBA supervision candidates in accordance with BACB requirements. 

Clinical Oversight

  • Review and approve Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), and skill acquisition programs. 
  • Maintain a reduced clinical caseload, conduct assessments, and oversee treatment planning. 
  • Analyze clinical data and modify programming to improve outcomes. 
  • Provide consultation, crisis support, and behavioral guidance for complex cases. 

Referral, Training & Quality Assurance

  • Participate in referral and intake reviews to determine clinical appropriateness and service needs. 
  • Oversee staff training systems and ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans across residential settings. 
  • Monitor treatment fidelity, conduct documentation audits, and implement quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensure compliance with BACB standards, state licensure requirements, Medicaid regulations, DMH standards, and BHA policies. 

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Operations, Nursing, and leadership to coordinate clinical services. 
  • Support organizational initiatives, strategic planning, and continuous process improvement. 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide leadership during behavioral crises. 

Accountability

The Lead BCBA is accountable for the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of behavioral services within Community Living. Success in this role includes:

  • High-performing clinical staff through effective supervision and development. 
  • Evidence-based behavior support plans implemented with fidelity. 
  • Consistent staff training and quality assurance across residential programs. 
  • Strong clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve quality of life for individuals served. 

Other Duties

  • Complete required documentation, billing, reporting, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and leadership activities. 
  • Uphold BHA's mission, values, and professional standards. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $84.610.03 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications. In addition, this position includes a $5,000 annual stipend, paid throughout the year in accordance with company policy.
