Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide part-time support at our assisted living community in the Lakeland area. This is a part-time or PRN position where the speech therapist will provide both Medicare Part A and Part B services to the residents of the community. The role can grow into a full-time role.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents
- Provide therapy services for dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, and speech impairments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including nursing, dietary, and medical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in care plan meetings and family conferences
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Florida SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate approach to working with elderly population
- Reliable and professional demeanor
Desired Skills
- Clinical experience or coursework in geriatrics, dysphagia, or medical speech pathology
- Interest in long-term care or assisted living settings
