Weekend Cook

Beehive Homes is seeking an experienced, friendly, dependable cook who is self-motivated and outgoing. This is a part-time position on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 7am to 3 pm. or 6 a-2 pm

As a cook with Beehive homes you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods with the awareness of special diets, seasoning requirements cooking times, temperature controls. You will need to have an ability to estimate quantities of food required, limit waste and utilize left overs while serving attractive and appetizing meals to 15 residents plus guest 3 times per day. You will also be responsible for but not limited to:

• Collaborating with the weekday cook and manager to prepare meals during our dining hours
• Ensure the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
• Maintaining acceptable standards of personal hygiene
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Read and follow standardized recipes
• Understand how to approach and communicate with all residents and guests
• Serve food according to dietary guidelines for each resident
• Ensure cold items are served cold and hot food is served hot

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• At least 1 year experience as a cook in a hospital/ALF/SNF
• Pass a national background check and drug screening
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
• High School Diploma or GED
