We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Split Shift Caregiver to provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals in various settings, including residential facilities, assisted living communities, and home environments. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure timely intervention and communication with healthcare teams.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met according to individual dietary plans.
- Operate patient transfer methods safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and assisting with laundry.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and resident rights policies.
- Facilitate effective communication with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote transparency and trust.
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, and resident’s rights policies.
- Ability to perform patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; experience with manual handling is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic medical skills such as vital signs measurement, first aid, CPR, and emergency response protocols.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging clients respectfully while providing compassionate support during scheduled shifts.
