Key Responsibilities:
- Laundry Operations:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, clothing, and other laundry items according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, ensuring they are used efficiently and safely.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect linens and clothing for stains, damage, or wear, and follow appropriate procedures for repair or replacement.
- Ensure that all laundry meets quality standards and infection control guidelines.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of clean linens and clothing.
- Monitor and report shortages or excesses of linen supplies and assist in ordering replacements as needed.
- Safety and Infection Control:
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures in handling, washing, and distributing laundry.
- Follow established procedures for handling soiled linens to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
- Adherence to Policies and Regulations:
- Follow facility policies and procedures related to laundry operations.
- Stay informed about and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address issues with laundry items.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move laundry items.
