Network and System Administrator

Job Description

The role of a Network and System Administrator involves monitoring and maintaining the IT infrastructure of an organization across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement network architecture, evaluate performance, and plan for upgrades and replacements.
• Perform various network management functions to ensure data communications networks are operating efficiently.
• Analyze client LANs/WANs, isolate issues, and recommend reconfigurations or new hardware installations to improve performance.
• Modify command language programs, network start-up files, and assign/reassign network device logicals to optimize device utilization and performance.
• Establish new user accounts on the network, granting access to required files and programs.
• Manage network email functions, establishing mailboxes and monitoring mail performance.
• Troubleshoot network/user problems, present resolutions for implementation.
• Serve as subject matter expert on Network Administrator technology and market capabilities/trends.
• Design and implement secure network and application delivery solutions providing high availability to hosted customer applications.
• Troubleshoot issues related to network and application performance to assist in resolving issues impacting hosted applications.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to transform technical objectives into comprehensive requirements.
• Formulate detailed network, storage, and compute design specifications for stable and secure computing operations in a dynamic cloud-based environment.
• Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across various network, storage, and compute technologies.
• Ensure network security and implement/maintain network upgrades.
• Maintain current knowledge of technology and education.
