Law Enforcement Officer
The Chiefland Police Department is seeking dedicated, community-oriented individuals to work as law enforcement officers. Our officers play a vital role in maintaining public safety and fostering trust within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws within the city of Chiefland.
- Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Make arrests and issue citations when necessary, following department procedures.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports for court and departmental use.
- BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH OUTREACH, EDUCATION, AND ENGAGEMENT.
- Participate in training to stay current on law enforcement best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and first responders.
