What You'll Do:
The Director of Lodging leads all lodging operations—including Front Office, Shuttle, Housekeeping, Laundry, Security, and Reservations—ensuring an exceptional employee, guest and owner experience. This position provides strategic and operational leadership, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality environment for guests and property owners across the resort. An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, financial acumen, and interpersonal skills to align departmental results with the resort’s service standards and long-term goals. The Director of Lodging reports to the Vice President of Lodging & Assistant General Manager and serves as a key member of the resort’s leadership team. Success in this position requires adaptability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment while maintaining exceptional service standards. Variable schedule to meet business needs including weekends and holidays. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility. This position is located on premises in Breckenridge, CO. Transitional housing may be available.
Position starts at $105,000 - $120,000 annual salary DOE
Supervisory Responsibilities:
5-7 direct reports and 100 indirect reports – domestic, international and temporary staff
- Performance management
- Set goals and expectations
- Provide feedback and identify strengths/weaknesses
- Create improvement plans and implement corrective action as necessary
- Train, develop and mentor staff
- Review and approve timecards, time off requests, etc.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily lodging operations across Front Office, Shuttle, Reservations, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Security ensuring seamless collaboration between all to support the guest and owner experience.
- Oversee rooms labor strategy, scheduling, and departmental budgets with a balance of financial discipline and business outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally with other divisions and departments to execute business strategies and deliver seamless and reliable guest experience.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, policies, and procedures that promote efficiency, safety, and service excellence.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance metrics—including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, labor productivity, and guest satisfaction scores—to drive operational efficiency and achieve financial objectives.
- Act as an escalation point for complex operational matters, guest concerns, and owner-related issues.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on lodging initiatives, capital improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Scale existing technology to promote operational efficiencies and participate in and support pilot programs and new system rollouts.
- Analyze, monitor, and ensure compliance with labor standards, including scheduling practices, overtime management, and meal/rest policies.
- Support the development and management of annual operating budgets, forecasts, and department-level financial performance.
- Support capital expenditure (CAMM) projects including bids, timelines, execution, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA safety standards and DOT transportation requirements.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED - required
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Resort Management, Business, or related field – preferred
- 5 years of progressive management/leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a resort, HOA, or hospitality environment – required
- 3 years experience leading multiple departments in hotel, resort or lodging environment - required
- 5 years hands-on experience with property management systems (PMS) in hotel, resort or lodging environment – required.
- Springer Miller System (SMS) - preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - strong Excel and data analysis skills - required
- Demonstrated experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and analyzing data - required
- Proficient in English - written and spoken – required
- Valid driver’s license meeting third-party insurance standards - required
