What You'll Do:
Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead revenue and owner accounting in a complex, multi-stream resort environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial accounting across all resort streams and the full condo rental program, while maintaining strong accounting controls and consistency across systems and processes. You’ll oversee revenue from lodging, group business, food and beverage, and conference operations, as well as full ownership of owner and HOA accounting. This role plays a key role in the monthly close and reporting process.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly organized accounting professional with excellent communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, systems, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a self-motivated, proactive problem solver who collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams while also working independently to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility. This position is located on premises in Breckenridge, CO. It is eligible for a hybrid schedule and can work some days from home.
Position starts at $75,000 - $90,000 annual salary DOE
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Performance manage 1-2 direct reports
- Set goals and expectations
- Provide feedback and identify strengths/weaknesses
- Create improvement plans and implement corrective action as necessary
- Train, develop and mentor staff accountant(s)
- Review and approve timecards, time off requests, etc.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Duties/Responsibilities:
Revenue Accounting
- Own revenue accounting across lodging (transient & group), F&B, conference/banquet, and ancillary revenue streams such as spa and parking.
- Lead the monthly revenue close process, including daily journal entries, reconciliations, and deferred revenue and advanced deposits tracking.
- Reconcile and validate data between SMS Host PMS, Agilysys POS, Profitsword and the general ledger.
- Oversee daily cash handling, deposits, revenue posting and reporting.
Owner Accounting
- Oversee the end-to-end condo rental program accounting and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely owner statements, including rental revenue, fees, and adjustments.
- Manage accounting for owner stays, comps, maintenance blocks and other exclusions.
- Reconcile owner balances and ensure alignment between subledgers and financial statements.
- Serve as primary point of contact for owner accounting inquiries and issue resolution.
Leadership and Close Process
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain strong internal controls across revenue and owner accounting processes.
- Support external audit requests and prepare required schedules and documentation.
- Drive process improvements and better use of systems to increase efficiency.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Homeowner Services to ensure accurate owner communication, account setup, and issue resolution.
- Work with Refurbishment, Maintenance and Housekeeping teams to ensure proper accounting for owner-related improvements, assessments, and unit-level costs.
- Provide accounting guidance on owner-related financial impacts and reporting considerations.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience – required
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience - required
- 3 years experience in a resort or hospitality environment – required
- 1 years supervisory or equivalent experience – preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) – required
- Experience with SMS Host PMS, Agilysys POS, and Profitsword - preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills - required
- Proficient in English - written and spoken – required
