Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
• Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both pets and staff during examinations and treatments.
• Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to support accurate diagnoses.
• Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring animal physiology to promote well-being.
• Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files with treatment notes, vaccination history, and laboratory results.
• Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, and oral examinations.
• Handle animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other veterinary critical care tasks with precision and compassion.
• Assist with pet grooming and dog training activities to improve animal comfort and behavior in the clinic setting.

Experience

• Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal husbandry work demonstrating familiarity with pet care routines.
• Veterinary technician experience or related veterinary practice background showcasing knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Experience working with animals in various settings such as clinics or farms, including equine experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices to support comprehensive patient treatment.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques essential for diagnostic support.
• Strong dog handling skills along with animal restraint expertise to ensure safe interactions during examinations or treatments.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
