SUMMARY
The Installer is responsible for the installation of awnings and signs for residential, commercial, and industrial establishments. The Installer is also responsible for servicing awnings, canopies, signs, and related products. During installation, the Installer will ensure that all safety protocols are followed as well as always maintain professionalism.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation of awnings, canopies, signs, and related projects.
- Follow special instructions and requirements to ensure work is performed in a cost-conscious manner.
- Communicate with production, the account manager and/or project manager, and other team members about onsite-specific installation instructions.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, logs, and records.
- Keep all equipment in good operation condition by following routine maintenance.
- Understand field conditions and perform field dimensions verification for manufacturing awnings.
- Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering drawings and established production standards.
- Operate power tools and other necessary equipment and perform tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications and installation of awnings.
- Prepare setup of necessary tools and equipment for awning jobs.
- Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
- Conduct required work professionally while on a job site, appropriately always representing the company.
- Travel may be required to other facilities, job sites, customer locations, vendors, and sign-shows.
- Maintain a valid DOT card.
- Pass DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend company meetings as required.
- Attend training, conferences, etc. as related to job duties and as time and budget permits.
- Observes all policies and procedures of the company including policies on confidentiality and safety.
- Special projects or tasks as assigned by the manager that may fall outside the scope of normal job duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field or construction.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work well in a team setting and independently.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- An analytical mind with good organizational skills.
- Experience in reading prints, hand tools, and power tools is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Outside, non-climate controlled.
- Working from a ladder, bending, twisting, and working overhead.
- Lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Overnight stays, long hours, and mandatory overtime.
