SUMMARY
The Production Technician is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance duties within the production department. The Production Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, stapling, skinning, grinding, cleaning, performing inspections, clean up, proper storage and disposal of products, and operating various tools and equipment, and various tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing and setting up necessary tools and equipment for manufacturing awnings, canopies, and miscellaneous aluminum structures.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and informing the Facility Manager of needed repairs.
- Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements for continual improvement.
- Review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs.
- Report fabrication issues and assist resolutions as required.
- Perform shop floor duties such as stapling, packing, shipping, loading, and unloading.
- Paint prep as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory.
- Analyze work orders to complete the manufacturing of awnings.
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment as needed for each job.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Assist on installs as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work well in a team setting and independently.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- An analytical mind with good organizational skills.
- Experience in reading prints, hand tools, and power tools is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Production floor, climate and non-climate controlled.
- Heavy lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Physical requirements require bending, twisting, standing, stopping, and standing for long periods of time.
