Project Director – Power Generation (East & West)
Locations: Tulsa, OK or Houston, TX

Company Overview
We are seeking highly experienced Project Directors to lead large-scale power generation projects across the United States. This role requires strong leadership, proven expertise in managing gigawatt-scale projects, and the ability to successfully deliver complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, motivates multidisciplinary teams, and consistently achieves results on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee large-scale power generation projects (gigawatt scale), including simple and combined cycle plants.
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams (35–50 internal members and 30–40 external vendors).
- Act as a primary liaison with executives, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all phases.
- Oversee the full EPC lifecycle, including schedule development, budget control, risk management, and critical path oversight.
- Drive project success by navigating ambiguity, adapting to changes in scope/design, and resolving challenges effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required).
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering, project controls, commercial development, operations, or project management within the oil & gas or power generation industry.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex projects:
- East Project Director: >1 GW projects.
- West Project Director: Combined cycle and gigawatt-scale projects (preferred).
- Proven leadership experience guiding multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong background in technical engineering or project controls.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and motivational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in schedule and budget management.
- Robust industry network preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred, not required).
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Oracle Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technical expertise with strategic project leadership.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $151,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
