What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Payroll Specialist position at Beacon Hill?
We're partnering with a growing organization to add a Senior Payroll Specialist to a collaborative, high-performing team.
This role is ideal for someone who wants true ownership of the full payroll lifecycle-from processing to compliance-while working closely across HR, benefits, and accounting.
- Own and process full-cycle, multi-state payroll (including off-cycle and bonus runs)
- Ensure accuracy of employee data, tax withholdings, and payroll reporting
- Support benefits, 401(k), and HSA file processing and reconciliations
- Partner with HR, Accounting, and vendors to resolve payroll and data issues
- Assist with year-end processes, audits, and compliance
- Handle employee inquiries and employment verifications
- Support payroll system enhancements, process improvements, and automation efforts
- Gain exposure to international payroll operations
- 5 years of payroll experience with full lifecycle processing
- Strong multi-state payroll tax knowledge
- Experience supporting benefits and related payroll integrations
- High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset
- Experience with UKG Pro (or similar HRIS/payroll systems) preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- True end-to-end payroll ownership (not siloed processing)
- Strong cross-functional exposure across HR, Accounting, and Benefits
- Collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on fit and long-term stability
