Senior Agentic AI Project Manager

Our client in Waltham MA is seeking a Senior AI Project Manager that will work onsite in Waltham MA 2 days a week. Candidates with Pharma/Biotech experience or Financial Services is a great fit.

As a Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional AI and technology initiatives, supporting the delivery of machine learning and artificial intelligence projects across the organization. This role focuses on managing foundational AI workstreams, advancing agile practices, and ensuring projects align with strategic objectives. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget while contributing to operational best practices and continuous improvement.

Successful candidates are highly collaborative, organized, and proactive problem-solvers who thrive in a fast-paced environment. They bring strong experience in agile project management, AI-driven initiatives, and technology programs, ideally within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments. This role requires deep knowledge of SCRUM and Agile methodologies and a solid conceptual understanding of AI and information technology. The position follows a hybrid work schedule based in Waltham, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Definition: Define clear objectives, scope, success criteria, and deliverables using both Agile and traditional project management approaches.
• Project Planning: Develop and maintain hybrid project plans that combine iterative delivery (sprints, backlogs, increments) with structured milestones, timelines, resource planning, and budget management.
• Resource & Capacity Management: Coordinate team capacity, skills, and resource needs across multiple workstreams to ensure effective execution.
• Team Leadership: Lead project teams by facilitating Agile ceremonies, coordinating cross-functional workflows, assigning responsibilities, and tracking progress against deliverables.
• Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues, implement mitigation strategies, resolve blockers, and maintain strong cross-functional communication and alignment.
