NY Barred Contracts Attorney (temporary)

Beacon Hill Legal’s client, a nonprofit organization located in Lower Manhattan, is seeking a NY Based Remote Contracts Attorney for a 9-month contract coverage. Candidates must have 3 years of experience handling commercial contracts in their entirety.

Candidates must reside in the NYC metropolitan area and be comfortable working remotely and commuting onsite to the firm’s office in Lower Manhattan as needed. Pay rate is dependent on experience and starts at $40/hr.

Responsibilities

• Advise Contract and Management Services department and draft, review, and negotiate subrecipient agreements and other contracts in connection with federal/state/local grants.
• Draft, review, redline, and negotiate commercial contracts and other vendor agreements, as well as additional contracts as assigned, and ensure that contractual arrangements align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
• Conduct regulatory research and draft legal memoranda.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Member of the New York bar in good standing (or eligible for immediate membership).
• Ability to work remotely and reside within commuting distance of Lower Manhattan.
• 3 years’ experience working in-house, at a law firm, or government agency.
• Expertise in federal grants (especially HHS) and government contracting (Uniform Guidance/2 CFR 200, NY State contracting requirements).
• Familiarity with MS Office suite.
