Legal Assistant
Position Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to a team of attorneys in their Albany office.
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and internal materials
- Manage calendars, schedules, and deadlines for attorneys
- Assist with client intake and maintain ongoing client communications as needed
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, meetings, court reporters, and other legal proceedings
- Handle travel arrangements and conference coordination when required
- Support billing, matter intake, and administrative accounting tasks
- Collaborate with other administrative staff and provide cross-coverage as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- 2 years of administrative or legal support experience
- Litigation experience is required
- Familiarity with legal terminology, documents, and State & Federal E-Filing
- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office and document management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff
