Beacon Hill's client, an Am Law 200 national law firm representing clients in a broad range of complex and high‑profile matters, is seeking a Conflicts Attorney for an immediate opportunity.
Overview
For this role, the firm is seeking a highly experienced Conflicts Attorney with extensive Governance expertise and at least 10 years of Big Law experience in conflicts and professional responsibility matters. The position is currently remote, with the expectation that the attorney is flexible to come on-site when needed.
Location
- Remote, however, candidates must be licensed and reside in the same jurisdiction (California or Washington, DC), with the expectation that the attorney is flexible to come on‑site when needed.
- Preferred Location: Los Angeles (California bar license required)
- The Los Angeles-based attorney will be responsible for training two new Governance Attorneys in the LA office.
- Alternate Location: Washington, DC (DC bar license required), candidates will be assigned to the DC office
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience handling conflicts and governance matters within Big Law
- Active and good‑standing bar membership required in California or DC
Required Experience
- Extensive experience supporting law firm Governance functions
- Of Counsel Guidelines (OCGs)
- Drafting and reviewing:
- Engagement letters
- Audit letters
- Ethical waivers
- Conflict waivers (prior to presentation to the General Counsel)
- Establishing and maintaining ethical walls/information barriers
- New Business Intake (NBI) review and analysis
- Managing conflicts for:
- Incoming attorneys and professionals
- Lateral hires
Preferred Experience
- Training or mentoring experience, particularly within a Governance or Conflicts group
