Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a leading national law firm in their search for a Conflicts Attorney to join their Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of conflicts or professional responsibility experience in a sophisticated law firm setting.
This role will focus on evaluating and resolving complex conflicts-of-interest issues related to new business intake, matter openings, and lateral attorney onboarding. The Conflicts Attorney will work closely with firm leadership, including senior attorneys and ethics teams, to advise on risk, ensure compliance, and support the firm's overall conflicts and intake processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-depth conflicts analysis for new matters and prospective clients
- Advising on and implementing conflict resolution strategies, including ethical walls and waivers
- Supporting lateral attorney onboarding through detailed conflicts reviews
- Drafting conflict waivers, disclosures, and engagement language
- Reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines and advising on conflicts-related provisions
- Educating attorneys and staff on conflicts procedures and ethical considerations
Qualifications:
- JD and active bar admission in IL
- 3 years of conflicts or professional responsibility experience in a mid-to-large law firm
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal and business relationships
- Experience with conflicts and new business intake systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
