Staff Accountant

Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Arlington, VA in their search for a Staff Accountant to join their team. This fully onsite role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with the month-end close process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
• Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Analyze financial data and assist with variance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
