What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager - Event Rentals & Operations position at Beachview Event Rentals and Design?

This position provides leadership and direction across our warehouse, office, sales, and onsite event operations and plays an important role in keeping our team organized, accountable, and focused on providing an exceptional client experience.
This is not a position for someone who wants to manage solely from behind a desk. We are looking for a leader who is willing to learn every aspect of the business, step in when needed, solve problems, support employees, and take ownership of the overall operation.
The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, solutions-oriented, dependable, and confident leading people in a fast-paced environment. Experience in event rentals is a plus, but strong leadership and operational management experience are equally important.

- Provide employees with clear direction, leadership, coaching, and support.
- Promote a positive, professional, team-oriented, and accountable workplace culture.

- Work closely with our offsite HR Manager regarding hiring, onboarding, employee performance, disciplinary concerns, and other personnel matters.
- Identify staffing needs and participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and onboarding new employees.
- Address employee concerns promptly and professionally and escalate issues to HR or the Executive Team when appropriate.
- Help develop employees and identify opportunities for additional training and growth.
Operations & Systems
- Oversee the company's daily operations and ensure departments are working together effectively.
- Learn and become proficient in the company's database and operating systems, including both sales and inventory functions.
- Ensure company systems and procedures are being used accurately and consistently.
- Monitor workflows, schedules, inventory needs, and operational priorities.
- Identify problems before they negatively impact an event, employee, or client.
- Develop and implement practical solutions to operational challenges.
- Look for opportunities to improve processes, communication, efficiency, and accountability.
- Adapt to new systems, responsibilities, and processes as the company continues to grow and evolve.
- Be willing to step in and assist wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Client Relations & Customer Service
- Help ensure every client receives a high level of service from the initial sales process through delivery, setup, pickup, and follow-up.
- Conduct direct client outreach when needed to follow up on experiences, concerns, or service issues.
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and work toward appropriate resolutions.
- Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and onsite teams to create a seamless client experience.
- Identify recurring service issues and help implement solutions to prevent them in the future.

- Partner with management and HR when safety concerns or policy violations arise.

- Previous management, operations, or leadership experience.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- The ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and positive work environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Event rental, hospitality, logistics, warehouse, operations, or related industry experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule
Standard Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Because our business revolves around events and client schedules, this position will require evening and weekend availability, particularly during peak and busy seasons.
Candidates should understand that flexibility during these periods is an important part of successfully managing an event rental operation.
What Success Looks Like
A successful General Manager will:
- Build trust and accountability within the team.

- Take ownership of the operation and follow through on commitments.
- Continually identify ways to make the company stronger, more efficient, and better prepared for growth.
