Position Overview
Under the management of the Associate Director of Paralegals and practice group attorneys, the Paralegal applies knowledge of law and legal procedures to assist clients in multiple functions. This position will assist attorneys in all aspects of litigation practice including preparation of pleadings, assistance with discovery, document review and organization, and preparation and attendance at hearings and trials.
This position may be based in one of the following U.S. offices: Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Kansas City, Dallas, St. Louis, or New York.
Responsibilities
• Support drafting pleadings, motions and appellate pleadings
• Manage complex document management using firm software; assist with electronic document production
• Assist with trial preparation and attendance including witness preparation, exhibit lists, trial logistics and management of required vendors
• Ability to use Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, and other online sources.
• Proficiency regarding cite checking and factual research
• Manage discovery requests including subpoenas, request for production, etc.
• Act as liaison between clients, colleagues and experts and related parties
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Ability to apply problem solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to deal professionally with all levels of clients both internally and externally
• Exceptional organizational and investigative skills including ability to prioritize deadlines
• Experience with all aspects of litigation
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Trial Director, and other online e-discovery tools
• Ability to work overtime little notice
• Ability to work off-site at client location(s), various firm offices, and/or trial venues for extended periods of time
• Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled

Travel
Ability to travel extended periods.
Education/Experience/Certifications
• 3-5 years litigation paralegal experience in a fast-paced law firm.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or paralegal certificate from ABA approved organization
• High level of experience with Microsoft Office programs
Pursuant to the Illinois and New York pay transparency laws, BCLP is posting a reasonable estimate of a compensation range for this position. At the time of posting, the estimated Illinois and New York range is $115,000 to $127,000. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the level of relevant experience, skillsets, training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full-timework schedule. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
