This opportunity is designed for a seasoned professional with deep hard-science expertise, extensive patent prosecution experience, and the ability to guide sophisticated clients through complex intellectual property strategies. The role offers autonomy, leadership, and involvement in cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, and prosecute patent applications across multiple hard-science disciplines

• Conduct patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses

• Advise clients on IP strategy, portfolio development, and risk assessment

• Review scientific disclosures and collaborate with inventors and technical experts

• Manage U.S. and international patent portfolios

• Respond to office actions and participate in examiner interviews

• Support intellectual property due diligence in transactional matters

• Monitor developments in patent law and relevant scientific fields

Qualifications

• Approximately 20 years of experience practicing patent law with a focus on hard sciences

• Extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution

• USPTO registration required

• Active state bar license in good standing

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Advanced degree in a hard-science discipline preferred

• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly

• Proven ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously
