Overview

A well-regarded Am Law firm with a strong and expanding corporate group is seeking a Corporate M&A Associate in Chicago, Illinois. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys hands-on deal execution, drafting and negotiating principal acquisition agreements, and working closely with experienced partners on complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute mergers and acquisitions for private and public companies

• Draft and negotiate principal acquisition agreements and related transaction documents

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support complex transactions

• Manage matters from inception through closing

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative deal strategies

• Build and maintain strong client relationships

• Participate in negotiations and other high-level transactional activities

• Stay current on legal developments and compliance standards

• Engage in professional development and contribute to firm initiatives and pro bono work

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of corporate M&A experience

• Prior experience at an Am Law 100 firm preferred

• Admission to practice in the State of Illinois required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Sound business judgment and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
