Job Overview

A well-established litigation firm is expanding its Insurance Defense Practice and seeks a motivated Insurance Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to represent transportation companies, insurers, and corporate clients in complex civil litigation matters. Duties

• Handle all phases of written discovery in complex insurance defense litigation matters.

• Conduct legal research and perform detailed case evaluations to develop effective litigation strategies.

• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.

• Participate in depositions involving parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.

• Attend hearings, status conferences, mediations, and court appearances in state and federal courts.

• Represent transportation companies, insurers, and corporate clients in highway accident, wrongful death, and personal injury defense matters.

• Analyze liability, damages, and litigation exposure while developing practical legal recommendations.

• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on sophisticated transportation defense cases.

• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategy.

• Manage multiple litigation matters while meeting court deadlines and maintaining exceptional client service.

• Assist with trial preparation, witness coordination, and evidentiary analysis.

• Support business development initiatives and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of civil litigation experience.

• Active admission to the Illinois Bar.

• Experience handling written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.

• Experience defending transportation, personal injury, property damage, or subrogation claims is preferred.

• Transportation industry litigation experience is highly desirable.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
