A well-established family law practice is seeking an experienced Family Law Litigation Associate Attorney to represent individuals and families in a broad range of domestic relations matters throughout Maryland and Washington, DC. The successful candidate will handle sophisticated family law litigation involving divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property division, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements while collaborating with experienced family law attorneys dedicated to achieving exceptional client outcomes.

Duties

• Manage family law litigation matters from initial consultation through final resolution.

• Represent clients in divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution proceedings.

• Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, separation agreements, pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, and other family law documents.

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda supporting litigation strategy.

• Represent clients during court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial proceedings.

• Develop effective litigation strategies while protecting clients' legal and financial interests.

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress, legal options, and litigation strategy.

• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

• Manage discovery, document review, witness preparation, and trial preparation.

• Maintain multiple active family law matters while ensuring compliance with court deadlines.

• Provide compassionate, practical, and strategic legal guidance to clients during sensitive family law matters.

• Stay informed regarding developments in Maryland and District of Columbia family law.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of family law practice experience.

• Active admission to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

• Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills.

• Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution abilities.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience independently managing family law cases.
