A law firm seeks an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney in Avon, OH. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multiemployer pension and welfare funds, focusing on ERISA, fund contribution audits, and withdrawal liability. Duties

• Advise employers on compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, DOL, PBGC, and IRS regulations.
• Counsel employers on withdrawal liability assessments, funding issues, mergers, and restructuring.
• Advise on plan documents, trust agreements, and settlement agreements.
• Represent employers in arbitrations, mediations, and litigation involving withdrawal liability and fiduciary matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments impacting multiemployer plans and advise on risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 9 years of relevant ERISA/employee benefits defense experience, focusing on multiemployer benefit funds and withdrawal liability.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
