Job Description
We are seeking a Test Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electronics troubleshooting, test systems, and production line support and a proven ability to diagnose root cause issues, maintain lab equipment, and collaborate with test engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor functioning lab tests, perform simple corrective actions, and escalate to appropriate contacts when required.
- Provide intermediate line support to the production floor with minimal supervision.
- Work with test engineers to build, modify, and debug test systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electronics to identify and resolve root cause issues using meters, oscilloscopes, and schematics.
- Maintain lab equipment and perform basic mechanical work.
- Support facility cleanliness and organization as time allows.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding of electronics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, electrical schematics, and circuit boards.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with demonstrated root cause analysis.
- Focus on electronics maintenance rather than machinery or motors.
- Proficient computer and software skills with clear communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to maintain lab equipment.
- Education: A.S. in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering. 3 years preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting production test environments and collaborating with test engineering.
- Familiarity with electronics lab safety and equipment maintenance practices.
Role Details & Conditions:
- Shift: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.
- Work Environment: Majority of work performed standing and moving throughout the facility.
- Travel: Driving a personal vehicle between local JDES locations under 15% of the time. Facilities are within 5 miles of each other.
- Safety: ASTM-approved safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection required.
- Screens: Light Industrial role. Drug test required.
- Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future.
- Scheduling: Potential to flex hours for cross training.
