Position Title: Software Engineer V (C / Distributed Systems)

Location: Onsite- Redmond, WA and Burlingame, CA and New York City

Expected Duration: 06 months, possible extension based on business needs

Job Type: Remote

Pay Range: $85/hr. - $88/hr.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in C and distributed systems to join a team building scalable backend infrastructure for next-generation technology products. The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering background, excels in asynchronous programming, and has experience designing high-performance distributed applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance C applications.
• Build and enhance scalable distributed backend systems.
• Develop solutions using asynchronous programming techniques and efficient memory management.
• Work with horizontal scaling strategies and backend infrastructure.
• Optimize system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of software engineering experience (7 years may be considered with strong related experience).
• Strong expertise in C .
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming.
• Solid knowledge of pointers, memory management, and multithreading.
• Experience building scalable backend systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Experience working on voice assistants or conversational AI platforms (Alexa or similar).
• Previous experience with large-scale consumer technology companies is a plus.
