As BC Steel Buildings continues to grow, we are seeking a proactive, dependable, and safety-oriented Seamline General Laborer to join our production team. This position supports seamline operations through material handling, basic welding and fabrication, equipment operation, quality inspections, and general shop duties.
The ideal candidate takes initiative, works well as part of a team, can accurately read a tape measure, and has some welding or metal-fabrication experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and interested in developing their manufacturing skills with a growing company.
Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Proactively identify and complete tasks without requiring constant direction
- Support seamline welding, fabrication, and material-handling operations
- Accurately read and use a tape measure to verify material dimensions
- Assist with basic welding, fit-up, grinding, and other metal-fabrication tasks
- Inspect materials and completed work to ensure they meet quality requirements
- Work cooperatively with team members to meet production, quality, and safety goals
- Clean and maintain a safe, organized work area
- Follow standard work procedures, job instructions, and safety requirements
- Safely handle and position light and heavy materials
- Learn to operate grinders, overhead cranes, plasma cutters, welding equipment, and other production tools
- Perform physical tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods, including lifting, climbing, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and team members
- Perform additional duties or assist with projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial production, construction, welding, or general labor
- Basic welding or metal-fabrication experience
- Experience accurately reading and using a tape measure
- Experience using basic hand and power tools
- Manufacturing-related education, training, or certifications
- Overhead crane experience is a plus

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods

- Ability to follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to understand spoken and written English sufficiently to follow safety instructions, communicate workplace hazards, and accurately interpret job orders
