Senior PEMB Estimator (MBS Experience Required)

BC Steel Buildings is seeking an experienced Senior PEMB Estimator to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a candidate with direct Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) estimating experience who can independently develop accurate building quotations, analyze construction documents, and support our sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Summary

The Senior PEMB Estimator is responsible for reviewing project documents, analyzing customer requirements, developing complete building quotations, and ensuring projects are accurately scoped and competitively priced. This role serves as a technical resource for internal teams and customers and plays a critical role in driving company growth and profitability.

Essential Responsibilities

Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

Analyze project requirements and determine applicable building systems and design criteria.

Develop complete PEMB quotations utilizing Metal Building Software (MBS).

Prepare material takeoffs and pricing calculations.

Evaluate loading requirements, applicable building codes, and project-specific criteria.

Coordinate with engineering, drafting, project management, and sales teams.

Develop value-engineering solutions when appropriate.

Review and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing.

Prepare proposal packages and bid documentation.

Respond to technical questions from customers and internal stakeholders.

Support sales personnel during project development and customer negotiations.

Maintain estimating records and project documentation.

Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of construction terminology and building fundamentals.
• Familiarity with structural framing, purlins, girts, roofing, wall systems, roof slope and pitch, and construction measurements.
• Strong applied math skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, conversions, percentages, area calculations, and basic geometry.
• Ability to read construction drawings or demonstrate the aptitude to learn.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
• Ability to learn technical products, construction systems, and estimating software.

Experience Levels

Estimator I

Entry-level candidates may qualify through relevant construction, drafting, structural steel, roofing, building-material, manufacturing, technical-school, or military experience. Direct estimating and MBS experience are not required.

Estimator II

Candidates should have relevant estimating or construction experience, the ability to review construction documents, and experience preparing takeoffs, pricing, quotations, or bid packages.

Senior Estimator

Candidates should have direct metal building estimating experience, proficiency with MBS or comparable software, and the ability to independently develop complete quotations for standard and complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Metal building estimating or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with MBS, MBS XL, Bluebeam, or similar software.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and loading requirements.
• Experience with cranes, mezzanines, lean-tos, canopies, insulation systems, or other specialty applications.
• Education in construction management, engineering technology, drafting, or a related field.
• Experience supporting customers, sales teams, or project negotiations.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary of $60,000–$80,000
