Role: Systems Engineer (JAMA Expertise)
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Duration: 6 Contract
Focused on SDK and embedded software architecture support.
Requires knowledge of:
o Embedded software stacks
o Middleware layers
o API architecture and integration concepts
Key Role Responsibilities & Expectations
• Support customer system integration activities across embedded automotive systems.
• Create and maintain system engineering artifacts, including:
o Architecture diagrams
o Sequence diagrams
o Block diagrams
o Interface documentation
• Analyze and reverse-engineer requirements from existing systems and software implementations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define system boundaries, workflows, and integration approaches.
• Review code and workflows using technologies such as C and Python, though direct coding is not the primary responsibility.
• Understand and evaluate testing acceptance criteria and system validation expectations.
Core Requirements (Top Skills)
• Strong systems integration experience within automotive environments.
• Hands-on experience creating system architecture artifacts and technical documentation.
• Prior experience with JAMA is mandatory and considered difficult to train from scratch.
• Strong understanding of embedded automotive systems.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering teams and drive technical alignment.
Technical Knowledge Required
• High-level understanding of CAN and Ethernet protocols.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (conceptual understanding; not DevOps-focused).
• Basic understanding of ISO26262 safety standards.
• Understanding of Git workflows, including code review and approval processes.
• Familiarity with container technologies and cloud-based systems.
