Job Title: Investigator
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months with Possible extension
Role Overview: Investigator, Special Investigations Unit
The Investigator will serve as an individual contributor responsible for conducting timely, complex proactive and reactive investigations. This includes drafting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and delivering clear, strategic analytical presentations to stakeholders at all levels.
Investigations will span a wide range of high-risk activities, including:
- Emerging financial crime threats
- Terrorist financing
- Internal investigations and employee-related referrals
- Large and organized fraud rings (triangulation fraud, account takeover, ID theft, ORC)
- Matters of national or international significance
- Domestic and international law-enforcement inquiries
- HR-related jurisdictional matters and potential sanctions concerns
- Sensitive topics including potential CSEM/CSAM indicators
This role may also support other FIU teams and expand responsibilities as the program evolves.
Required Qualifications (Hard Skills)
- 4 years of experience in AML regulations, investigations, or related compliance fields
- 2 years of hands-on experience drafting SARs
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF laws, regulations, and compliance practices; experience in an MSB or e-commerce environment is a plus
- Professional certifications preferred (CAMS, CFCS, CFE, CHTI, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and functions)
- SQL skills a plus
- Exceptional writing, research, and analytical abilities, with the capability to interpret complex data from multiple systems
