Penny's Diner is looking for a dependable Cook to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and providing guests with consistent, quality food.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
- Handle multiple orders during busy periods
- Complete basic food prep and restock items as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized cooking and prep area
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Check food quality and freshness
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment as needed
- Keep food properly labeled, stored, and rotated
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries
- Complete opening, closing, and assigned cleaning duties
- Work as part of the diner team to provide good service to guests

- Dependable and able to arrive to scheduled shifts on time
- Able to work independently and stay organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Good attention to food quality and cleanliness
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform normal kitchen duties
- Able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Previous restaurant or cooking experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider applicants with a good work ethic and willingness to learn

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
