Location: Kent Campus Hospital
Status: Full Time 32 Hours
Shift: Weekends
SALARY RANGE: 16.57 - 24.86 HOURLY
General Summary:
Prepares, compiles, and maintains patient and operational records in the nursing unit. Performs general secretarial and clerical duties. Coordinates clerical duties of a diverse and confidential nature to maintain efficiency of patient care areas.
Responsibilities:
1. Uses order entry program for order entry/retrieval with accuracy.
2. Transcribes doctors’ orders utilizing basic knowledge and anatomy and physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and accepted abbreviations, according to Health Information policies and procedures.
3. Plans and executes a daily routine for the nursing unit (i.e. maintaining inventory control, providing census/acuity data, etc.)
4. Files reports on the patients’ charts and maintains the patients’ charts each shift.
5. Operates the hospital paging system and fax machine according to hospital policy.
6. Enters daily orders for diets and lab tests, diagnostic procedures, etc.
7. Coordinates scheduling of patients’ tests, therapies, and diagnostic procedures that require patient population.
8. Communicates medication orders to pharmacy via fax or telephone.
9. All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
