SALARY RANGE: 69,950.40 - 108,409.60YEARLY

General Summary:

The Benefits Program Coordinator - Leave, Life and Disability is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's leave programs, including state and federal family and medical leave, as well as medical, personal and military leave of absences. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and provides support to employees throughout the leave process. The Benefit Program Coordinator also oversees the administration for the Bayhealth short- and long- term disability Plans, and life insurance claims.


Responsibilities:

1. Manage the administration and management of leave of absence programs, disability and life insurance plans.
2. Collaborate with Benefits Manager to develop and implement new programs and enhance current program administration.
3. Render decisions, when necessary, ensuring plan compliance and proper execution of policies and procedures.
4. Ensure Bayhealth team members and third-party administrator operate in accordance with Federal and State laws, including but not limited to, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and DOL.
5. Act as the benefits subject matter expert, with primary focus on leave of absence, disability, and life insurance programs. Ensures efficient plan administration and compliance.
6. Serve as liaison between departments, providing guidance and support to Bayhealth team members, management, Occupational Health staff, Payroll and third-party leave and disability administrators.
7. Consults with, and advises team members on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to leave and disability.
8. Responsible for arrears administration including reporting, reconciling, team member communications and proper application for direct payments.
9. Coordinate administration with transition of short-term disability claims to long-term disability.
10. Prepare files for required annual STD audits and 5500s
11. Prepare and submit team member and dependent life claims to carrier for life insurance payout.
12. Coordinate with beneficiaries as needed and follow up until final completion of insurance claims.
13. Develop and implement communications / training programs for managers and team members on leave policies and procedures.
14. Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of annual Open Enrollment.
15. Collaborate with benefits team to manage leave-related benefits and ensure seamless integration with other employee benefits.
16. Conduct regular audits of leave programs to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
17. All other duties as assigned within scope and range of responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor Degree Human Resources; or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

  • Experience: Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in leave management or employee benefits administration.
