REPORTS TO: Vocational Director The Cabinetmaking/Carpentry Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality vocational instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Education Frameworks. The instructor will implement a program of study tailored to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students, while maintaining effective classroom management. As part of the instructional team, the instructor collaborates with colleagues, participates in school-wide initiatives, and contributes to academic-vocational integration efforts. This position requires expertise in the cabinetmaking or carpentry trade and a commitment to supporting student learning in a safe, inclusive, and industry-aligned environment. New Teachers will receive extra support and be paired with a Mentor through Bay Path’s mentor-training program. This position focuses on classroom-related theory and shares shop time with a second Instructor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. Coordinates daily instruction with the existing instructional team. Delivers effective instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Cabinetmaking and Carpentry standards to students of varying abilities and skill levels. Responsible for effective techniques of classroom management/discipline and behavior reinforcement. Fulfills department teaming roles such as a mentoring partnership with a professional status colleague. Participates effectively in school-wide task forces and academic-vocational integration activities. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Massachusetts Chapter 74 Licensure or be eligible to attain a preliminary vocational technical teacher license within one year of hire. High School Diploma or the equivalent. Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to cabinetmaking or carpentry. SEI Endorsement or ability to achieve SEI endorsement within one year of hire. Citizenship, residency or work visa required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Massachusetts Chapter 74 Professional Licensure in Cabinet Making or Carpentry. Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License. Minimum OSHA-10 Certification. Experience providing instruction in the content areas taught. Advanced educational preparation in the areas of the content area or education. Experience in the area of Multilingual/Multicultural education. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cabinetmaking / Carpentry Instructor does not supervise any staff at Bay Path. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a Full Time position. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC. SALARY: $59,152.95 - $105,795.77 as appropriate step on Teacher’s salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA. BENEFITS: Full comprehensive benefits package that includes: Health Insurance - Zero deductible plan offered through BCBS. The cost of the premium is shared by the District and the employee (70% paid by District and 30% paid by employee). Dental & Vision Insurance Life Insurance - The District provides coverage of $10,000 at no cost. Employees may elect additional coverage at their own expense. Speaks clearly so others understand. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
