Join Bay Harbor Yacht Club as an Accounting Specialist and play a key role in supporting the Club's financial operations. In this full-time, year-round position, you'll manage accounts payable, member billing, accounts receivable, and a variety of accounting functions while helping maintain accurate financial records and support budget analysis. Working closely with the Controller and Director of Finance, you'll contribute to the success of a premier private club known for exceptional service, teamwork, and stunning Northern Michigan views. We are looking for a full time, year round Accounting Specialist to start immediately.

Job Duties:
- Track electronic vendor payments and credit card purchases.
- Maintain vendor file information such as certificates of insurance, W9 forms, etc.
- Assist in monitoring monthly inventories for various departments.
- Prepares Use/Sales tax and miscellaneous state filings.
- Bank statements and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain secondary schedules/subledgers related to various activities.
- Process and post billings related to point-of-sale transactions, banquets, member events and other member activities.
- Prepare and send monthly member statements.
- Process member payments and prepare bank deposits.
- Monitor accounts receivable and act according to established club policies and procedures.
- Answer member questions regarding monthly statements.
- Maintain confidentiality of club information and the safeguarding of club assets.
- Help answer the phone, fulfill dining reservations, assist members with general questions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with major in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Two to Four years of professional accounting experience preferred
- Previous payroll processing or human resource experience desired.
- Previous experience working in hospitality industry desired.
Job Competencies:
- High level of ethics and trustworthiness.
- Must be familiar with processes related to bookkeeping, payroll, budgets, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Adobe required.
- Knowledge or prior use of Financial and Accounting Software Applications required.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal and state accounting laws and practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize work activities required.
- Strong interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
