We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator to support the growth and development of our nursing team. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will lead orientation programs, provide hands-on training, mentor clinical staff, and support evidence-based practice. Your work helps ensure quality, safety, and excellence across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Development & Education
Provide bedside education, coaching, and clinical support
Foster a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth
Promote specialty certification and continuing education
Orientation & Onboarding
Develop and implement onboarding for new hires and transfers
Validate clinical competencies and support preceptor relationships
Performance Improvement & Evidence-Based Practice
Identify educational needs using data and outcomes
Lead or assist with quality improvement initiatives
Design and evaluate evidence-based learning programs
Needs Assessment & Planning
Analyze knowledge/skill gaps and collaborate on solutions
Align educational plans with departmental and organizational goals
Collaboration & Teamwork
Partner with clinical leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams
Participate in shared governance, hospital initiatives, and committees
Support EMR education and other clinical systems training
Compliance & Safety
Ensure training complies with policies, safety regulations, and standards
Promote patient and staff safety, including just culture and error reporting
Maintain education records and documentation
Other Duties
Support student programs, wellness initiatives, and special projects
Represent the education team in meetings, site visits, and surveys
Track department outcomes and contribute to goal setting
Qualifications
Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience (additional experience required if no BSN)
Preferred: Experience in clinical education or professional development
Preferred: Certification in nursing specialty or clinical education
Education
Required: BSN or RN with equivalent experience
Required: Current RN license in the state of Louisiana
