We are looking for dependable, associates to join our Buffing Department at our outdoor furniture manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for preparing aluminum furniture frames after welding and before powder coating. The right candidate will take pride in quality, work safely, and understand that the finish work done in this department has a major impact on the final appearance of our products.
Job Responsibilities
The Buffing Department Associate will grind, sand, buff, and smooth welded aluminum furniture frames to prepare them for powder coat finishing. This includes removing sharp edges, weld discoloration, surface imperfections, weld splatter, rough spots, and other defects while maintaining the shape and integrity of the frame.
Daily duties may include:
- Buffing and sanding aluminum furniture frames after welding
- Using grinders, sanders, flap wheels, files, and other hand tools
- Cleaning up weld areas without over-grinding or weakening the frame
- Inspecting frames for dents, rough edges, weld issues, or defects before paint
- Working with welders and supervisors to correct quality issues
- Moving furniture frames safely through the production process
- Keeping work area clean, organized, and safe
- Following production schedules and quality standards
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have experience in metal finishing, grinding, sanding, fabrication, welding prep, automotive body work, or manufacturing. However, we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ideal qualifications include:
- Experience using hand grinders, sanders, or buffing tools preferred
- Ability to recognize surface defects and quality issues
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move frames throughout the shift
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work as part of a team
- Must be safety-minded and able to follow instructions
- Aluminum or outdoor furniture manufacturing experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movement, lifting and handling aluminum furniture frames, bending, reaching, and working around dust, noise, and power tools. Employees must be able to safely lift and move materials as needed.

Compensation
Pay based on experience. Prior metal finishing, fabrication, sanding, or manufacturing experience will be considered.
Prior outdoor furniture manufacturing experience a plus.
