What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor's Assistant position at Basin Vision Center?
Doctor's Assistant/Pre-tester:
We currently have an opening for a doctor’s assistant at our thriving optometry practice.
Must be available to work full-time Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We are closed all weekends and major holidays.
We are looking for a motivated, energetic individual who is willing to learn new skills. Previous experience in the medical field is greatly appreciated, but we will train all necessary skills. It is very important that any potential hires enjoy working with the public and have a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
Responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients and performing preliminary testing
- Autorefraction
- Fundus photography
- Visual acuities
- Color vision testing
- Taking a thorough case history
- Performing special testing as directed by the doctor (OCT imaging, photos, visual field testing, etc)
- Administering dilation drops when directed
- Scheduling follow-up visits and referrals with other providers
- Training patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Re-stocking exam rooms and thoroughly cleaning between patients
- Answering phones and filling contact lens orders

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
