Job Title: Gas Turbine O&M – Instrumentation/Controls/Electrician (I/C/E)
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled LM6000 Gas Turbine O&M I/C/E Technician to provide expert technical support for the control systems of LM6000 gas turbines. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing turbine control systems, ensuring reliable operation and performance during field service engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control System Support:
- Perform installation, commissioning, and testing of LM6000 gas turbine control systems and associated components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues, including hardware, software, and communication faults.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement control system upgrades and enhancements.
- Operational Assistance:
- Provide real-time operational support to clients, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of gas turbine operations.
- Monitor and analyze control system data to identify trends, potential issues, and performance optimization opportunities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and maintenance strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document all service activities, including troubleshooting steps, repairs, and modifications made to the control systems.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, summarizing operational performance, issues, and recommended actions.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer:
- Provide training and technical support to client personnel on the operation and maintenance of gas turbine control systems.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations during all field service activities.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments related to gas turbine control operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience (5 years) in control systems for gas turbines, specifically LM6000 or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine control architectures, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for control system hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with control system programming, configuration, and optimization.
- Knowledge of network communication protocols related to turbine control systems.
- Certifications in gas turbine technology or industrial control systems are highly desirable.
