Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately compound sterile and/or non-sterile preparations according to established formulas and protocols
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working in a high-volume production setting
- Follow all USP and facility-specific compounding standards to ensure product quality and patient safety
- Perform quality checks throughout the compounding process, including calculations, measurements, and documentation
- Prepare and label medications for dispensing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant compounding workspace at all times
- Monitor inventory levels of compounding supplies and raw materials, flagging shortages as needed
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and fellow technicians to keep production moving efficiently and meet daily volume goals
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials where applicable
- Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline workflows and maintain consistent quality
Job Requirements
- Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification as required by state regulations
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical compounding is required
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment
- Solid understanding of compounding calculations and techniques
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and protocols consistently
