The Position
The Transportation Administrative Assistant, reporting the Department/Facility leader, will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization.
This position works from 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. The role is on-site Monday through Thursday, and works remotely on Fridays.
The compensation range for this position starts at $18/hour.

The Position
The Transportation Administrative Assistant, reporting the Department/Facility leader, will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization.
This position works from 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. The role is on-site Monday through Thursday, and works remotely on Fridays.
The compensation range for this position starts at $18/hour.
Your Day-to-Day
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks as assigned; including, but not limited to: data entry; copying; filing; and retrieving information as needed
- Daily document reconciliation and reporting
- Process and record transactions: prepare, post, verify, and record daily customer payments and transactions related to customer accounts
- Maintain and update records to ensure accurate customer information and payments
- Maintain records, assist with document control
- Communicate relevant information to all team members and other departments as necessary
- Monitor retail delivery shpiments for all Barrett paid freight to ensure on-time delivery, minimizing chargebacks to Barrett customers
- Track and trace small package, LTL, and TL shipments through TMS and carrier websites
- Compile and send daily shipment tracking reports as assigned
- Enter truckload movements into TMS to create Bills of Lading and billable loads
- Assist Transportation Operations and Billing staff, as assigned by management
- Proactively identify problems and implement solutions
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED required. A minimum of two (2) year’s college preferred.
- Prior related office experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
- Proficient with all Microsoft applications.
- Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes.
- Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
