Yard Operations Supervisor or Manager
who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys leading people, and takes pride in keeping complex operations running smoothly.
About the Role
This is a key leadership position overseeing day-to-day compost production operations. You'll work closely with management, equipment, systems, and people to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality—while helping drive continuous improvement across the yard.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to yard staff
- Coordinate daily operations involving heavy equipment and production flow
- Clearly communicate management goals, priorities, and expectations
- Communicate, demonstrate, and enforce safety requirements and best practices
- Regularly evaluate yard operations and scheduling to maximize efficiency
- Identify and troubleshoot issues to keep operations running smoothly
- Lead by example while fostering teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment
- Use mobile technology and operational tools, or be willing to learn, to improve communication and efficiency

Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 years of personnel supervision
- 5 years of heavy equipment operation experience
