Position Purpose: This position will manage the sales and trade marketing functions of the assigned accounts/territories for Barr Brands. Maintains communication and oversees all business functions (single point of contact) between Barr and its customers. Responsible for managing and influencing client relationships to drive company strategies and priorities. Is responsible for full account/customer profit and loss. Work is performed under the general direction of the Sales Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains communication and oversees all business functions (single point of contact) between Barr Brands and their assigned accounts.
- Creates, develops and maintains customer relationships; promotes long-term corporate growth through account development, partnership, strategic sales planning, account profitability management, propose and develop new products, reposition existing products, direct customer contact and face-to-face selling.
- Develops a sales strategy and supporting action plans for the accounts to continue high customer service levels; performs forecasting of customer requirements; performs market segmentation and strategy development, as well as market trend analysis.
- Reviews sales goals versus actual sales and communicates information to buyers; achieves yearly budgeted sales and/or gross margin goals. Develops mitigation plans when sales are short and up-side plans when meeting/exceeding goals.
- Partners with Sales Director to make many account specific decisions that are in the best interest of our business. Ensures that the Sales Director is kept abreast of important account specific situations that have a significant impact to the business.
- Responsible for implementing pricing and promotion strategies, policies and practices.
- Assists Sales Director in the development of the annual account sales plan in support of company organizational strategy and objectives.
- Ensures any sales representative groups have the resources and programs needed to meet and exceed company expectations.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the direction of sales activities within their class of trade responsibilities. Must have demonstrated ability to lead cross functionally and get results through others. Must be able to interface and influence all levels of the customer’s organization. Strong relationship development and customer service skills are necessary.
Work Environment and ADA Compliance:
- Work Environment: Typical office environment with moderate noise level. Role will be primarily remote/home office based, but also in corporate office setting as work/meetings require.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry shipment boxes/materials weighing up to 25-50 pounds. Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) to inspect samples and read documentation.
- Mental Requirements: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
