Bark & Play, the tri-state leader in dog daycare and boarding services, has an immediate opening for an energetic, organized, business minded leader to sustain and drive the business.
The primary role of the Manager is to oversee all daily functions of management and development of their team members, operating all areas of business, driving sales and operations, and ensuring the highest safety standards and levels of satisfaction for all dogs and dog owners.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees all hiring, onboarding, and employee management including training.
- Assist in training new employees, setting clear expectations in cleaning, dog supervision, and customer service.
- Communicate with staff for day-to-day operations and client requests.
- Provide positive feedback and performance improvement suggestions to staff and make training adjustments as needed.
- Motivate employees to work hard and manage high morale.
- Communicate changes, expectations, initiatives to employees.
- Have fun and keep things light, but professional, always maintain professional boundaries with employees and clients.
- Maintains optimum staffing levels and labor costs.
- Creates and manages the schedule for all employees.
- Monitor client schedule and Baths, and Bark Bus schedule.
- Participates in promotional activities or events.
- Serves as community liaison and builds the brand with vets, shelters, and local community groups.
- Understand dog play and able to move/run quickly in event of emergency.
- Maintain a calm demeaner in an emergency and how to handle it.
- Monitor’s playrooms, knows all dogs in the facility to ensure safety and appropriate assignments.
- Dismisses dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues, monitors actions plan to retain those with minor behavior issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment utilizing cleaning protocols to ensure our facility is the cleanest in the industry.
- Provide direction to employees to ensure the facility is clean, running smoothly and safe.
- Model and coach excellent customer service to employees and clients.
- Speak of clients in a positive manner.
- Build rapport with clients.
- Handle escalated situations.
- Ensure clients are charged correctly and daily drawers are accurate.
- Call and follow up with clients if needed.
- Monitor dog files are up to date and all paperwork in file is current.
- Monitor daily feeding and medication intake forms.
- Maintain controllable expenses within budget guidelines.
- Communicate any concerns or needs to Owner proactively.
- Strive for the highest level of satisfaction for our dogs, clients, and team.
- Performs all other duties assigned.
