Barfield Health Care is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our long-term care team. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, and sanitize surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces according to facility procedures.
- Follow infection prevention and isolation precautions as required.
- Properly use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Restock housekeeping and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, spills, or other concerns.
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, personal belongings, and confidentiality.
- Follow all facility safety, infection control, and resident-rights policies.
- Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable working in a long-term care environment.
- Must meet applicable facility employment and background requirements.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular standing and walking and may involve bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving housekeeping supplies and equipment. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
