Technical Operations Coordinator, HDR Content

Location: 900 Seward St Los Angeles, CA

Team: Barco Cinema –Content & Studio Relations team

Overview

Barco is building the future of premium cinema through high dynamic range (HDR) projection and next-generation Lightsteering technology. Our Los Angeles-based HDR Content Operations team works directly with studios, post-production houses, and internal engineering teams to enable the creation, review, and delivery of HDR content for cinema.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive Technical Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day operational flow of this work. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role at the center of technology, content, and people. You will help keep schedules accurate, resources aligned, equipment moving, and sessions running smoothly.

This role also plays an important part in shaping how we organize and track our work. You will help evaluate scheduling and tracking tools, propose improvements, and contribute to building lightweight operational systems that scale with the team.

If you enjoy bringing order to complexity, like being useful in many different ways, and are comfortable in a technical creative environment, this role will suit you well.

  • Maintain and update schedules for:
    • Titles and projects
    • Review / grading sessions
    • People and teams
    • Projectors, rooms, and other shared resources
  • Track tentative bookings, holds, and rapid changes from studios and partners
  • Identify and flag potential conflicts or double bookings
  • Coordinate calendars across internal teams and external partners
  • Research, evaluate, and help implement scheduling and tracking tools and workflows

Asset & Equipment Tracking

  • Track physical assets including:
    • Projector components and accessories
    • Demo systems and internal tools
    • Supporting hardware and equipment
  • Maintain clear records of:
    • Equipment inventories
    • Delivery dates and expected timelines
    • Equipment movements between locations
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of:
    • Projector parts and equipment
    • Demo systems and supporting hardware
  • Coordinate logistics with internal teams and external partners as needed

Session Support

  • Help prepare rooms and systems for sessions
  • Assist in powering on and running projectors during sessions (training provided)
  • Act as a point-of-contact during sessions for logistical issues

Operational Support

  • Keep simple tracking documents and spreadsheets up to date
  • Follow up on open items and loose ends
  • Support engineers and business team members with ad-hoc tasks
  • Help document and improve operational processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, calendars, and shared documents
  • Experience with booking and scheduling enterprise systems (MS Bookings, SAP, PowerBI, etc).
  • Event planning experience (preferred).
  • Able to manage multiple parallel tasks without losing track
  • Comfortable in a technical environment (no prior projection experience required)
  • Experience in media, post-production, studio operations, or technology environments
  • Familiarity with file-based workflows or media assets
  • Interest in film, imaging, or display technology

Work Environment

Our work involves close collaboration with Hollywood studios and post-production facilities. While we strive for healthy, sustainable working hours, this role occasionally requires flexibility to accommodate sessions or schedule changes outside of standard business hours. We value and support good work–life balance and aim to plan proactively whenever possible.

What You’ll Gain

  • Exposure to cutting-edge cinema technology
  • Experience working with major studios and post-production facilities
  • A front-row seat to how HDR content is created and delivered
  • Opportunity to grow into operations, production, or technical coordination roles
